Lean Coordinator / 5S

Lean Coordinator / 5S

Location: Fort Wayne, IN

Description

This is a hands on position with responsibilities for parts storage, setup, and optimization of floor space and presentation of components to the assembly processes. Responsible for training of lean 5S concepts and implementation of continuous improvement projects in the area of housekeeping, production, materials, and logistic operations. This a hands-on, get-it-done position.

Responsibilities

  • Develop robust 5S continuous improvement strategy in partnership with business stakeholders.
  • Delivery and support of 5S changes and initiatives contributing towards improvement standards.
  • Conduct risk assessments and lead root cause analysis investigations.
  • Actively monitor project timelines and service providers and proactively identify solutions in a timely manner.
  • Complete post-implementation reviews to ensure successful delivery of results were achieved.
  • Establish a continuous improvement 5S monitoring system to identify trends and process variations in support of a world class manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

Required:
  • All applicants must have at least 5+ years' experience in a project execution environment and 5S coordination.
  • Experience in manual assembly is preferred.
  • Willingness to flex shift work hours as needed.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software and MS Office Suite.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle tools and parts, reach with hands and arms, see, talk and hear. The employee is required to stand, walk, stoop or kneel. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to think on their feet and adjust to the current situation.

Mechanical Engineer

Mechanical Engineer

Location: Fort Wayne, IN

Description

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the Mechanical Engineer contributes full time design support to the team efforts for both project and development engineering of our new and existing products, including developing and analyzing lab tests, facilitating vendor interface, arranging field trials, and providing creative solutions to support the engineering product team goals.

Drawing on a solid working knowledge of refrigeration systems and HVAC installation and service as well as typical plumbing and electrical practices, your accountabilities will include:

  • Developing potential HVAC designs using lab and/or computer modeling data, with responsibility for any specific projects assigned.
  • Supporting engineering lab testing and test unit development.
  • Acquiring and analyzing field data, as needed.
  • Designing and developing test apparatus and procedures, as needed.
  • Complying with all WaterFurnace International and OSHA policies, procedures, specifications, and standards.

Qualifications

Required:
  • BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Three or more years of design experience in the development and manufacture of Air Source heat pumps.
  • Working knowledge of refrigeration systems and HVAC installation and service as well as typical plumbing and electrical practices.
  • Electrical wiring and schematic reading, and general troubleshooting.
  • Software skills: mid-level Visio, Microsoft Excel, and Word.
  • Refrigeration theory and broad geothermal product knowledge.
  • General HVAC installation and service skills.
  • General knowledge of plumbing and electrical practices.
  • Project management skills.
Preferred:
  • Broad geothermal product knowledge
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Visual Basic is a plus

Description

Our Assemblers combine their skills and efforts in a team environment.

Your accountabilities will include the following:

  • Use powered hand tools, brazing torch, lift tables, hand-held scanner, and forklift.
  • Install couplers, vacuum lines, copper tubing, wiring, and sheet metal panels.
  • Cross-train on different assembly stations.
  • Schedule: Monday through Thursday from 5:00 AM until 3:30 PM.

Qualifications

Required:
  • At least one year of related experience.
  • Ability to lift heavy items.
Preferred:
  • High School degree or GED.
  • Related vocational coursework.
  • Welding experience.

Residential Product Manager

Residential Product Manager

Job Overview

  • Manage product line life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities
  • Coordinate and build strong working relations with various internal organizations including Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Product Development, IT and Operations
  • Specifying market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by on-going visits to Partners
  • Drive a solution set across development teams (primarily Product Development, and Marketing) through market requirements, product specification, and positioning
  • Develop and implement a company-wide go-to-market plan, working with all departments to execute

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Develop short and long term residential product and strategic plans and review quarterly.
  • Evaluate competitor products, pricing and solutions; performs competitive analysis and review quarterly.
  • Lead Voice of the Customer efforts to ensure we identify customer needs on a continual basis.
  • Maintain contact with the sales force to monitor trends and keep informed of needs.
  • Coordinate activities with other departments to ensure synergism of objectives.
  • Prioritize each product opportunity.
  • Coordinate product integration/launches/changes through the stage/gate process to drive implementation and market adoption.
  • Identify business & operational requirements based upon business requirements & objectives of each product.
  • Develop product presentation for products and meet with customers to teach on products.
  • Assist in the development of the proper tools needed to demonstrate product performance and content of sales presentation.

Qualifications

Residential Trainer

Residential Trainer

Job Overview

WaterFurnace is seeking a highly motivated, self-starting individual to fill the role of Residential Trainer for our Residential channel. The qualified candidate will be highly self-disciplined in task and time management, analytical minded, and able to operate independently. They should possess leadership qualities that enable them to make recommendations and drive the execution of training programs or strategies quickly. This individual will also contribute to the continuous development of the training curriculum by engaging stakeholders both within and outside of the WaterFurnace organization, establishing themselves as the go-to expert for Residential products. They will be able to adapt their content delivery to various environments in order to create and maintain effective learning and material retention. A candidate with extensive HVAC knowledge is required and NATE certification is preferred.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Conduct pre-deployment needs assessment (Territory Manager, Warranty and Tech Support data)
  • Self-coordinate travel and material logistics
  • Position requires 50-75% seasonal travel
  • Execute the assigned training and hands on exercises to ensure proficiency
  • Test, poll and conduct after action review
  • Conduct exit logistics plan for all supporting materials and documents
  • Identify curriculum needs based on warranty and partner proficiency data
  • Organize and outline content in support of skill acquisition goals
  • Build content utilizing various references approved by WaterFurnace Engineering
  • Review all training manuals and update with new printed materials
  • Review all training PowerPoint slides and identify all slides that need changes or need to be deleted or replaced
  • Update all training parts kits
  • Update all trainer boards and repair if necessary
  • Teach, advise and consult with other teams regarding shared interest
  • Other duties may be assigned

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for the Residential Trainer position will possess a demonstrated track record of results with the following abilities:

  • HVAC/R Associates Degree or equivalent experience
  • NATE / IGSHPA certification within 12 months of employment
  • Strong written and oral communication skills are mandatory. The right candidate will utilize these capabilities regularly to successfully present and communicate requirements from stakeholders, meeting minutes, business processes, etc.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common industry and technical journals.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.

The Territory Manager drives sales growth through development and engagement activities inside an assigned market. Market development activities will include increasing demand and consumer awareness thru marketing, networking and education. This effort includes resourcing and participating in trade shows, home shows, workshops and various local organizations and associations (HBA, AIA, HVAC). Dealer development is accomplished through influence, training and accountability. This development will include increasing mindshare, retail sales experience and technical competency. This position also requires consistent engagement with dealers and trade allies to introduce products, programs and promotions.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Identify market potential to increase sales and market share
  • Meet or exceed annual sales and contribution margin goals
  • Increase consumer awareness and order demand through marketing, advertising, networking, education and lead generation activities
  • Maintain a dealer base by driving performance, accountability and constant recruiting of new dealers as needed
  • Provide leadership and coaching to dealers to increase sales and lead generation activities
  • Develop a network of strategic trade allies and market influencers in support of market development activities
  • Create and report sales forecast and territory needs utilizing a CRM platform
  • Evaluate dealer performance and identify continuous improvement opportunities

Qualifications

  • Strong presentation and communication skills
