WaterFurnace geothermal systems are great for retrofit applications. Most units are easy to install, particularly when they replace a forced-air system. Commercial units can be installed in areas unsuitable for fossil fuel furnaces because there is no combustion, thus no need to vent exhaust gases. In buildings where ductwork is absent (radiant or console heating applications), ductwork will need to be installed where forced air units are to be used.
