Description

Reporting to the Controls Engineering Manager, the Embedded Software Engineer works within the Product Development Team on the leading edge of ongoing advancements in real-time controls application technology that, in turn, drive industry-leading levels of geo-thermal systems efficiency and comfort.

Your accountabilities will include �

  • Analyzing product application needs and field issues, integrating inputs from Sales, Marketing, Warranty, and Field Technical resources.
  • Designing software for geo-thermal heat pump controls.
  • Writing program code.
  • Testing to ensure efficient and effective systems operation that meets design requirements.
  • Documenting the step-by-step engineering architecture development process that was followed.
  • Participating in software inspections and design reviews.

Qualifications

Required
  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • At least three (3) years of experience developing RTOS embedded architecture with strong programming skills in C, C++, Assembly language.
  • Good working knowledge of networking protocols, including Modbus, BACnet, LON, and TCP/IP.
  • A logical thinker with demonstrated abilities using debuggers, emulators, version control, and compilers/assemblers.
Preferred:
  • Experience developing embedded applications on PIC microprocessor.
  • Communication Protocols such as RS485, USB and Zigbee
  • Software management tools
  • Experience in developing software for user interfaces, graphical and non-graphical
  • HVAC Controls System Design experience
