Web Developer/Designer

Location: Ft. Wayne, IN

Description

We're looking for an extremely organized, detail-oriented, highly productive web developer with a love for design to help create and maintain our family of corporate websites. As part of the corporate marketing department, our in-house creatives support two large, innovative brands. If you are as fascinated by user experience, efficient code and metric analysis as you are by great design and creative solutions then you may be the right candidate for this position.

The web developer/designer will represent the technical side of our design team and will be responsible for implementing the architecture and improving the functionality our web offerings. The ideal candidate will excel at converting creative designs into fully functional dynamic websites. Very soon we will be implementing a complete visual and backend overhaul of these two large websites and this position will be heavily involved.

Qualifications

  • Degree in graphic design, interactive design, new media design, or equivalent experience
  • 5 Years professional experience
  • Must be highly skilled in creating standards-compliant HTML/CSS websites
  • Use industry-standard development tools such as: Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks, Flash, and have knowledge of web-based platforms and browsers
  • An aptitude for design and design programs such as InDesign
  • Good working knowledge of server side scripting such as ASP.NET, (PHP a plus) and client side scripting like AJAX, JavaScript, and related technologies
  • Familiarity with relational databases and SQL
  • Experience with HTML email best practices
  • Comfortable with web analytics
  • Familiarity with integrating back-end systems with front-end interfaces.
  • Knowledge of online business marketing principals (Impressions, clicks, conversions, ROI, Cost per Acquisition, Web analytics) with the ability to analyze results of initiative
  • Good working knowledge of search engine optimization (SEO) a plus
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize projects based on business needs
  • Strong communication skills including ability to work in a team environment
  • Sample of Web site work and/or portfolio will be requested
  • Experience with Mac OS X a plus

Graphic Designer

Location: Ft. Wayne, IN

Description

Under the direction of the Manager of Advertising and Creative, this position will be responsible for developing visual solutions for print, web and video that fit seamlessly into our existing materials. Because WaterFurnace handles all marketing efforts internally, a broad skill-set, strategic thinking and a love for continuous learning are essential for success. Collaboration and teamwork with a team of salaried and freelance artists is required along with the ability to handle multiple projects under tight deadlines. The ideal candidate will balance creative thinking with an attention to detail and self-motivation.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Graphic Design
  • At least 2-4 years of experience and/or an impressive portfolio of branding, print and web work
  • A solid understanding of design principles
  • An aptitude for design programs, specifically InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop
  • Experience with videography, motion graphics and video editing is desirable
  • An ability to work well in a team environment
  • A love for learning and creative thinking

Jr. Embedded Software Engineer

Location: Ft. Wayne, IN

Description

The responsibilities of incumbent include analysis, design, coding, testing and documentation of real-time embedded software (firmware) of geothermal HVAC controls.

Qualifications

BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering. Coursework in embedded application C programming is essential. Good working knowledge of assembly language, visual basic, visual C/C++, wired networking protocols (Modbus, BACnet, LON, TCP/IP), experience with engineering tools such as debuggers, emulators on Microchip PIC microprocessors are preferred.
