CAD Designer

CAD Designer

Location: Fort Wayne, IN

Description

Reporting to the Senior Director of Engineering – Commercial Products, the CAD Designer uses Solid Edge Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software to create detailed images of HVAC units and components, completes Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), investigates and approves/denies Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), assists suppliers (primarily sheet metal) with sampling, design, and approval of WaterFurnace parts, and approves prototype units created from drawings or sketches.

Required Qualifications

Skill and Experience Requirements:
  • At least two (2) years of experience in design/drafting skills using AutoCAD Solid Edge.
  • Machine design experience.
  • Ability to invite and accept constructive feedback.
  • Ability to develop design drawings based on clients' standards and specifications.
  • Ability to complete drawings accurately and quickly.
  • Ability to interact with Model Shop and Engineers frequently and consistently to obtain ideas, ensure quality and correct errors.
Education Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associates Degree in Computer Drafting and Design or related college coursework.
  • Knowledge of fabrication principles and processes, including sheet metal experience.
  • Project management experience.
  • HVAC Controls System Design experience.

Product Engineer - Commercial

Product Engineer - Commercial

Location: Fort Wayne, IN

Description

WaterFurnace International, the most respected name in geothermal heat pumps for both residential and commercial applications, seeks a skilled professional product engineer to support our commercial line of products

Our mission is to bring energy efficient products and technologies to the Commercial Market. This position supports the manufacture of specialty chillers and geothermal heat pumps for large commercial and industrial applications, with unique functionalities that include building automation and remote monitoring software that work together to optimize equipment performance.

Duties

Reporting to the Senior Director of Engineering—Commercial, International, and Applied Products, you will contribute in a team environment with primary responsibility for supporting the development of all new and existing Chiller products.

Your accountabilities will include the following:

  • Collaborating with technical design resources;
  • Drawing three dimensional models;
  • Validating designs;
  • Coordinating witnessed testing;
  • Participating in factory testing at the customer's site.

Qualifications & Requirements

Required:
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Expertise in SolidWorks or SolidEdge 3D computer-aided design software
  • Five (5) or more years of demonstrated experience in:
    • Production of Submittal and Literature drawings
    • Production of drawings for the fabrication of steel
    • Design of Low- and High-Voltage layouts
    • Management of projects
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Application of refrigeration theory and broad geothermal product knowledge.
  • General HVAC installation and service skills.
  • General knowledge of plumbing and electrical practices.

Programmer Analyst - Two Positions

Programmer Analyst

Location: Fort Wayne, IN

Description

WaterFurnace International, the most respected name in geothermal heat pumps and large chillers for commercial applications, seeks skilled professionals to create programming for various product software applications.

Duties

Reporting to the Lead Developer, the duties of the responsibilities of the Programmer Analyst include all areas of the software development lifecycle, including analyzing user needs, designing, testing, documenting, deploying and maintaining software. This position will be a key contributor to collaborative efforts in our software engineering process, with responsibility to meet expectations for functionality, cost, and delivery schedule.

Qualifications

  • Education Requirements: Associates degree in IT Computer Programming or related field required. Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
  • Experience Requirements: Five (5) or more years of related experience.
  • Skill Requirements: C#, VB.Net, PHP, JavaScript, JQuery, NodeJS, JSON or similar technologies. Knowledge of Linux is a plus and candidates should be comfortable working with modern relational database technologies like Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL.
