MERV Filters
AlpinePure filters are available in both 1-inch and 2-inch sizes with MERV (Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value) efficiency ratings that vary based on the product line and unit size. MERV is an industry standard which rates the ability of a filter to trap particles 0.3 to 10.0 microns from the air we breathe. WaterFurnace water-to-air units come standard with a MERV 4 or MERV 8, 1-inch filter and have an upgrade option for a MERV 13, 2-inch filter. The MERV 13 filter provides one point towards LEED certification and meets the LEED Green Building criteria for minimum efficiency. Its low initial resistance promotes low energy consumption and provides nearly twice the life of a standard filter.
